Itinerary

DAY 1 - NEW JALPAIGURI RAILWAY STATION / BAGDOGRA AIRPORT TO GANGTOK

Upon arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport, you will be greeted by a driver and transferred to Gangtok. At an elevation of 1,750 meters, Gangtok is the capital of Sikkim, featuring a mix of traditional Buddhist culture and modern development. Surrounded by monasteries and orchids, it serves as a gateway to North Sikkim and is a delightful destination for travelers. Key Pointers:

  • Arrival: Pickup from NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport.
  • Gangtok: Capital of Sikkim at 1,750 meters.
  • Development: Rapid growth since the mid-19th century.

DAY 2 - GANGTOK TO TSOMGO LAKE & BABA MANDIR - DAY TOUR

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading out for a full-day excursion to Tsomgo Lake (Changu Lake), located 35 km from Gangtok at 12,400 feet. The lake, fed by melting snow, is known for its stunning scenery and the legend lamas used to forecast the future by analyzing its color. Key Pointers:

DAY 3 - GANGTOK TO LACHEN

  • 10:00 a.m. - Depart after breakfast for Lachen (8,610 ft).
  • En route, stop at:
    • Singhik View Point - Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
    • Seven Sister Waterfalls - Marvel at the seven-tiered waterfall cascading beautifully.
    • Naga Waterfalls - Witness the stunning and powerful flow of this picturesque waterfall.

DAY 4 - LACHEN TO LACHUNG

  • Early Morning - Begin half-day excursion to Gurudongmar Lake (17,800 ft).
    • Gurudongmar Lake - Sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists; believed to be blessed by Guru Padmasambhava.
  • Return to Lachen - Head back to the hotel for lunch.
  • Transfer to Lachung - After lunch, proceed to Lachung.

DAY 5 - LACHUNG TO GANGTOK

  • Early Morning - Start excursion to Yumthang Valley (11,800 ft).

  • Transfer to Gangtok - After Yumthang Valley visit, proceed back to Gangtok.

DAY 6 - GANGTOK TO PELLING VIA NAMCHI RAVANGLA

DAY 9 - DARJEELING FULL DAY TOUR

Start your day with an early morning trip to Tiger Hill to witness a spectacular sunrise over the Himalayan range, including views of Kanchenjunga and Mount Everest. The horizon changes colors before the entire range turns golden. Visit Ghoom Monastery, the oldest in the area, home to a 15-foot statue of Mythey Buddha. Next, visit Batasia Loop and return to the hotel for breakfast. Afterward, enjoy a city tour covering the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Tibetan Refugee Centre, Tenzing Rock, Tea Estates, and the Japanese Peace Pagoda.
